During the last week in February, my wife and her business partner, Dr. Kathy Kegley, are presenting at an international creativity conference in Singapore on the subject of visual metaphors in nature. If you are interested is some publicity for your website and are willing to share one of your nature related photos please send an email or PM to me. You may also post your response on this thread. In your response please let me know the date you posted a nature related photo you are willing to share.

Sorry for the late request however they need feedback in the next few days.

Note that there is no licensing fee being offered. However, if your photo is used, you will receive credit and your website will be referenced. It is my understand that there will be a presentation, using Katy Kegley's visual meaphors, followed by a workshop in which teams from the audience will pick from your photos and combine them into a collage which represents a specific metaphor.

Personally I am interested in the power of collaboration in the City Daily Photo community. I feel that if others in our community use our photos in similar creative ways that readership of our community as a whole will grow.

I also feel that collaboration from a global community holds some very interesting possibilities and I look forward to the ideas the community considers.

Please let me know in you would like to participate.

"visual metaphors in nature" seems such a huge subject that I'm not sure where to begin.

Do you have a link to Dr Kegley's work that might give us an idea of the kind of thing she means?

Gerald, Dr Kegley's website is specific to Creativity Immersion and does not have specifics about the subject she will be presenting at the international creativity conference in Singapore. Personally I think your Canal view posted on February 06, 2008 or your path from the river posted on January 18, 2008 would both lend themselves to visual metaphors.

You don't have to furnish the metaphor. Your contribution would be a powerful visual image of nature in which others would search for metaphors

Other examples might be my most recent two post February 9, 2008 - Hints of Spring and February 8, 2008 - A hawk hunting in Falls Park

Denton, what an interesting idea to put out there for us! I know you are familiar with our CDPB posts, and besides those we publish, there are others that we don't. I rarely publish nature shots, but I do TAKE a lot of them and store them on Flickr, the photo sharing sight. Would that source be welcomed to be shared from? Thanks,
-Kim

Sure, photos on Flickr are welcome. We will still reference you CDPB website with the hope that viewership will increase.

Send me a link to the Flickr photos you are willing to share.

We hope to pick photos from several places around the world to not only help the presentation but to demonstrate the power of collaboration from a Global community.

Thank you Gerald, I will pass your offer along. Also I will ask Kathy and my wife to take photos of the results which I'll be sure and share. Hopefully we will get lots of participation.

~Tandy~ thanks for the PM and for sharing nature photos from your Stavanger Daily Photo site. I will pass them along to my wife and Dr Kegley for use in their presentation.

Hopefully others will offer the use of one of two of their nature photos. They will be used in a presentation at an international conference on creativity. The conference will be held in Singapore the last week in FEbruary and it will be attended by people from around the world.

I hope to demonstrate the power of collaboration from a Global community.

thanks

(posted on the 10th of January on Budapest Daily Photo)

Maybe you can use it

How interesting!

So, are you looking for birds/wild animals/etc.? If ANY of mine are suitable, you are welcome. I'll wait for your reply and then I'll go and search for you.

Thanks so much for this extended use of our blogs.

Thanks Zsolt, your contribution is much appreciated. I especially like the colors in your photo. It is inspirational and will lend it's self well to interpretation. Plus conference attendees will be intrigued by a nature view from Budapest.

Yes, birds and wild life are great. Also, strong visual statements in nature can be seen in trees, water, and weather as well. Plus it can be nature in an urban setting. So if you have photos which combine urban and nature in one scene you get the added benefit of showing more of your city to the world.

Please let me know which photos you are willing to share in this effort.

I'll be sure and report back in March about how the presentation went.
